Our Annual Conference in December saw the second presentation of the Pat Carr Social Value award in memory of the late Pat Carr, mother of Group Director Stephen Carr.
The award is given to the member of staff who has consistently gone above and beyond in their day to day role and fully embodies the Social Values of We Are Footprint. This year’s winner was announced by our good friend and poet Mike Garry.
The award went to @Narina Bomanji. Narina, as well as winning Gift Vouchers for herself, got to choose her own charity for a donation of £500.
She chose @Smart Works Greater Manchester, a charity that helps unemployed women prepare for job interviews by providing professional clothing and interview coaching. Since launching in Stockport in 2015 they have supported over 4,000 women, with 69% securing a job within a month of working with Smart Works.
One-to-one dressing sessions where clients receive high-quality interview outfits are followed by coaching from experienced volunteers. This practical support helps women feel prepared and present themselves with confidence.
With centres in Stockport and Manchester city centre, Smart Works Greater Manchester is accessible to women across the region through referrals from work coaches and support organisations.
