Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage refurbishment and joinery projects, ensuring all aspects of the work are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with DWP representatives, contractors, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and smooth execution of the project.
  • Resource Management: Oversee teams of contractors, suppliers, and other personnel involved in the project. Manage the allocation of resources and ensure the proper scheduling of tasks.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all costs are tracked and kept within allocated limits.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the project timeline, cost, or quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all refurbishment and joinery works meet DWP’s specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project updates to senior management and key stakeholders, reporting on progress, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager within the construction, refurbishment, or joinery sector, particularly on large-scale government or public sector projects.
  • Qualifications: A relevant Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) or equivalent experience. A background in construction, joinery, or refurbishment is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, safety standards, and government project requirements.
  • Commitment to Quality: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering projects to the highest possible standard.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel across multiple sites for site visits and project oversight.
