Job Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the cost and contractual elements of social housing refurbishment projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, and general maintenance works. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost control and budgeting for refurbishment projects.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents, cost plans, and budgets.
  • Carry out cost analysis and value engineering to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely valuations and final accounts.
  • Review contracts, prepare variations, and manage claims.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on site.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the social housing or refurbishment sectors.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, valuations, and variations.
  • Experience with social housing frameworks and public sector contracts.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
