Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control throughout the lifecycle of refurbishment and new build projects. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for refurbishment and new build projects.
  • Manage project costs, including material costs, labour costs, and overheads.
  • Conduct cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee procurement and contract administration, including tendering processes.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance, including variations and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and contract negotiations when necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a focus on refurbishment and new build projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement, and contract management.
  • Experience using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • RICS qualification or working towards (desirable but not essential).
