Traffic Banksman

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials on site. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. The Banksman will be responsible for directing the movement of vehicles and equipment, ensuring that all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with regulations.

Duties:

• Direct and control the movement of vehicles and machinery on site, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Communicate effectively with operators and ground staff to coordinate activities and prevent accidents.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clear communication with team members using hand signals or radios, as necessary.
• Report any incidents or near misses to management promptly to enhance safety measures on site.

Experience:

• Traffic Banksman Certificate or equivalent.
• 2 current references from previous jobs that you have done this role.
• Ability to build rapport with team members and effectively communicate instructions clearly in English.
• Previous experience in construction or heavy industry environments would be beneficial.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months
