The Traffic Marshall plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians within designated areas. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The Traffic Marshall will be responsible for directing traffic, monitoring site access, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties:
- Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely through designated areas, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic.
- Communicate clearly with drivers and pedestrians to provide instructions and guidance.
- Monitor site access points to ensure only authorised personnel enter the area.
- Build rapport with team members and site visitors to foster a cooperative environment.
- Report any incidents or hazards to the appropriate authorities promptly.
- Maintain a visible presence at all times to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- You must have a valid CSCS card and Traffic Marshall or equivalent for this role, with 2 references from previous roles.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Strong observational skills to identify potential safety issues quickly.
- Capability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
