Since the introduction of the Social Value Model in 2021, all suppliers bidding for central government public service contracts have been required to outline how they will deliver social value through their work.
Central Government implemented these changes to increase fairness and equity for SMEs in the bidding for public service contracts. Primarily, they saw construction projects as ideal opportunities to make a positive impact on the communities in which they are built.
The importance of social value delivery is not just for Contractors bidding on public sector projects. It's also becoming a key priority for construction companies working on private sector projects as businesses become increasingly focused on improving their environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts to boost their reputation among customers, stakeholders and investors alike.
That's why many construction companies work with social enterprises - they believe that it’s important to give back to the communities they're working in and using social enterprises throughout their supply chain is an excellent way of doing so.
We Are Footprint is well placed to help you deliver innovative solutions to social and environmental problems whilst still providing you with quality temporary staffing solutions needed within the construction industry.
Through our Social Enterprise we offer the same exacting service levels at the same cost as our traditional recruitment arm, but instead of dividends being paid to shareholders we have committed over half of our surplus profit back into the community via training and support for priority groups (such as the Homeless, Ex-offenders, Care Leavers, and NEET’), or year-round support for our charitable partners.
